Restoration of Old Photographs
Many of us have many photographs that bring us memories of family, friends, trips.....etc. Sometimes those memories that we like so much are spoiled either by time, humidity or other factors. Why lose those memories when you can really get them back? Not all the photos that we restore are 100% recoverable, but of all those that are brought to us, I can say that 95% can be as new as the first day. Below you will see some examples of how some photographs have arrived and what the final result was.
In our way of working we differentiate four types of restoration of old photographs. The basic retouching, light, serious and very serious. Within these four types of retouching, the photographs are classified according to their difficulty as well as the time that their restoration may take. All this is related to how preserved the photograph is, which parts are affected by scratches, discolorations, etc.

Light Restoration
These types of photographs usually have minimal deficiencies, whether they are scratches at the ends, lack of a fragment of photography on one of its edges, which do not usually affect faces. This photograph is a clear example.

Serious Restoration
These types of photographs usually have deficiencies in many parts of the image, whether they are scratches in the image that usually affect large parts of the body, sometimes even reaching the face or missing a fragment of photography. This photograph is a clear example

Very Serious Restoration
The photograph shown at the bottom is a clear example of one with a very serious retouching. These types of images usually have damage throughout or almost all of their entirety, affecting especially faces, which makes recovery much more difficult.

collage
Collages are made for any type of event. Silver/gold weddings Anniversaries, birthdays. Without a doubt, a good gift with unforgettable memories.

unrecoverable photograph

In this case, it is a completely unrecoverable image. Due to its deterioration and wear, the definition of the people is minimal as well as the details. In the woman if we look closely, we do not know for sure if what she has in her hands is a cloak, a bouquet of flowers or another object as well as the texture of the dress. With regard to the faces, the number of deficiencies is such that a minimal alteration makes the face change completely and they are other people. Factor that hinders the recovery of this photograph. These types of photographs, depending on their degree of difficulty, are usually practically difficult to restore, if not impossible.

In this gallery you can see different images of how they arrived at our studio and their subsequent recovery. The change in the images is such that in many cases the restored photograph seems to have been taken on the same day despite many years having elapsed.
